Join West Side United, Sankofa Wellness Village, and hospital partners for a Community Baby Shower celebrating Black Maternal Health Week, sponsored by Aetna Better Health of Illinois. Centered on the theme “Rooted in Justice and Joy,” this free event will bring together pregnant and postpartum parents and West Side families—with a special focus on serving Garfield Park families ahead of the opening of the Sankofa Village Wellness Center. Attendees will have access to baby supplies and giveaways, health screenings, prenatal and postpartum support, safe sleep education, and connections to local maternal health resources. The Community Shower is designed to uplift families while strengthening partnerships between healthcare providers, community organizations, and birth workers working to improve maternal and infant health across Garfield Park and Chicago’s West Side
